You probably have heard of Claustrophobia or Acrophobia, BUT there are lots of different phobias, for example (and these are all a little strange for most of us):
Alektorophobia is the fear of chickens
Genuphobia is a fear of knees (really?)
Barophobia is the fear of gravity
Gynophobia is the fear of women and Androphobia, the fear of men
You can check out others phobias here: https://www.healthline.com/health/list-of-phobias
The definition of a phobia is ‘an irrational fear of something that’s unlikely to cause harm’ – it’s unlikely that, although the thought of seeing my knees is scary (I admit), you would actually run away if you did see them!
But what about going to sleep in the dark after watching a horror movie!? No problem?
How about swimming in deep water? Do heights give you sweaty hands or shaky knees maybe?
Do you hate the thought of a clown’s face?
How about needles? can you watch the needle going in when being vaccinated?
Who takes care of the spiders in your home?
