I have agreed to accept a position to teach regional studies at the university of Braunschweig and will also be sharing the course information with “English-Lunchers”! The title of the course is “Great Britons and Their Influence on British Society and Culture<\/em>“. You will have the opportunity to get involved in the discussion by joining the regular English-Lunch sessions during which I will be presenting my nominations for the greatest Briton but also listening to your nominations! Below in Italics you can see the course description. Why not get involved!??<\/p>\n\n\n\n Britain is famous for many things such as comedy, pubs, the Beatles, the royal family, the colonial history, etc., but who are\/were the greatest Britons?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n We will be taking a closer look at famous British individuals, whilst also discussing and understanding the impact they had on British society and culture.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Over the first few lessons we will collectively discuss and aim to find a consensus on who should be considered as belonging in that group of \u2018Britain\u2019s Greatest\u2019 and why. You will receive an introduction to whom I consider to be among the most influential, but you will also be required to put forward your own names and reasoning. Then, over the course of the semester, we will have a more in-depth look at each of our nominations, understanding and reflecting on their impact on society and culture not only during their lifetimes, but also beyond.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Finally, we will be taking a vote on who our greatest Briton is! <\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Over the coming few months we will be taking a collective closer look at British culture and society!
