ELunch 09.11 – Freddy Mercury? Alan Turing?

This week we had the first nominations and presentations from our feerless English-Lunch participants!

All of us very much enjoyed finding out more about Freddie Mercury and Alan Turing. We followed up the presentations with an interesting discussion – including comparisons – on both nominees. Both of them died much too early…

Next week we will be listening to more presentations about our greatest Britons – I am certainly hoping I will get the chance to present one of my nominations!

If would also be great if today’s presenters could add few comments about their nomination in the comment section below!!!

Look forward to hearing / seeing you next week

  1. What a pity, Freddie was my favourit person, too :=) !

Is there a possibility to upload or to distribute both presentations to inform those who couldn’t share eLunch on 9th of November? Would be nice to get some examples of the brave first presenters…:)

  2. Oh Heidi, it is too bad that you missed my good presentation last week.

Great that Freedy is also your choice in the category music.

To convince all the other voters here on the picture you will get an imagination about Freddy and don’t forget to follow the video links and vote for Freddy:

His great self-confidence and faith in his talent (fotos with great posing and gesturing):
Queen – Don’t Stop Me Now (Official Video) – YouTube

His conviction about the strenght of a community ( foto with the band members his familiy):
Queen – We Are The Champions (Live Aid 1985) – YouTube

His longlife searching, finding and belivieng in love (foto with his partner Jim Hutton):
Queen – Somebody To Love (Official Video) – YouTube

I’m curios to see what are your points Heidi to choose Freddy.

    1. Fantastic Sandra – am already having another look at the videos. In the 80s I actually turned down tickets to live-aid… I was too busy doing other stuff!

    2. Hi Sandra, I never knew that Freddie’s name was “Farrokh” – I always thought, he called “Frederik” – but never mind – I’ m still learning!
But the stage name realy is written without “y” but with an “ie”, believe me ;O) !

I got the great luck to see him and the great “Queen” live with 80000 other people on Maimarktgelände in Mannheim on 21th of June in 1986 https://youtu.be/Rh5f0SX-eMM
